Rediff Domains is a rip-off
I had booked a domain vastu.in with Rediff the online booking process was successful I was assured that the domain was booked, but since I was not in a position to pay by credit card …I had accepted pay by check as my preferred payment option. I was intimated by Rediff that on clearance of the check I would be given control of the domain I sent the check to Rediff Domains by post which Rediff had accepted and got it cleared but the domain was never given to me they sold the domain to somebody else …
Later when I had called up their customer service I had to wait continually to talk to the customer service department of Rediff while the call was held up and it took hours to talk to the right person and I was never satisfied with their answers, how ever after making so many calls to their office in Bombay and spending at least $ 25 on phone calls alone I had to hear from these people that the domain was booked by and allotted to some body else.
Their customer service representative actually accepted the transaction was failure and the domain was allotted to somebody else he promptly promised to reimburse the amount to me within a week…
The day never arrived until I had to spend another $ 25 on phone calls alone to their office to get a refund of $20 domain the whole experience was a night mare for me I will never recommend Rediff to any of my clients in future and let every body know that Rediff domains is a rip-off their customer service is poor and it was a frustrating experience for me dealing with Rediff domains.

i had a similar experience with rediff domains these people are not competent they charge you the roof their services are expensive with poor customer care.
indian domain and hosting co’s are not reliable
A Canadian phone maker Blackberry, had challenged the registration of three domain names — blackbberry.com, blckberry.com, and blackberry.com —
By rediff domains stating they were similar to its trademark Blackberry, and could be confused with it.
The Geneva-based WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center has ordered the transfer of all three domain names.
REDIFF DOMAINS is yet to learn domain registration ethical standards
Don’t register domains with rediff they don’t book domains in real time, they always depend on their staff to manually book domains if u are lucky,and if no one else is looking for your domain you will get it.
Other wise until they manually check the payment log you a will surely miss the bus.

Even I have encountered the same problem from rediff..
Rediff domain registering service is really hopless.
To the best of my knowledege, rediff is indian company. It is worth of the above comments.

Be aware Rediff does not allow any one to transfer domains to other providers this is another minus point in registering domains through Rediff ! Once a Rediff customer always a Rediff customer you have to die with them. Rediff is a third world company@#^^&&
I registered a domain http://robinblogs.in rediff.com. First they said my order is approved because the amount is not received. When I explain it, they said it is approved. I asked for auth. code to transfer the domain name but still I could not get it. I requeted 4 times still no response.
http://www.name.com is a better place to register .in domains
