Scam is “Cash Point Claymont Delaware, and Norton’s Towing Squad”

Oct 22nd, 2009 by Liza in Personal Ripoffs, Service Ripoffs

I am basically putting “Cash Point” and “Norton’s towing squad” on notice to the public for their illegal partnership in stealing, selling, and robbing people of not only their personal vehicles, and their belongings as well.
First of all “Cash Point” does the initial fraudulent stealing. they offer you a small loan, give you the option of paying it back in your own time, they tell you they will work with you, if you are having trouble paying (which is a lie), then they take your vehicle without you knowing it. At the time of the initial application process, they look at your vehicle, research it, take your title, (not a copy), but the original, have you sign it over to them while they place a lien on it and they claim immediate ownership. Not allowing, trusting, or considering the consumer from the beginning. Eugene, is one of the loan officers who takes your information, and acts like he is trying to help you, when he really isn’t.
Eugene basically preys on women, single women to be exact, who are w/o a man, desperate, and will do anything, but sell their soul to the devil to get their hard earned vehicles back.
He likes to set up weekend visits with women, meet with them, take their money, and steal their souls. he acts like he is helping, when all he is doing is setting them up for the next phase of the game; contacting his partner in crime, Dave Norton, who actually steals your vehicle while your not looking, takes it to an undisclosed location to sell it, charge you a fee of fifty dollars to get your personal belongings ( those he doesn’t want for himself that is) and sends one of his harlots or flunkies to bring you what he wants you to have back.
Before you can request your belongings, he has to think of a strategy to use. He then tells you he needs to make an appointment with you. You make the appointment, and he doesn’t remember making the appointment, so he cancels, and reschedules when he’s ready. Personally, I know he’s doing drugs. He’s an idiot. You will never meet Dave, because he isn’t man enough to face his victims, because of fear of someone harming him. So he hides behind his name.
When you do meet to get your personal belongings, always have someone with you. he lies about his location by giving you an address: 5900 Germantown avenue, anybody that knows Germantown avenue, knows that address doesn’t exist.
Look out for these vampires, they will rob and steal from you in a second.
Everyone: beware of ‘Cash Point”, located in Claymont Delaware; and Norton’s towing squad”, located in Germantown, on a small street called ‘Cosgrove’ street. I’ll give it to Dave Norton though; he’s a criminal hiding in an area where there is a police station adjacent to where he is located. Isn’t that something illegal protecting illegal?

      • Hi Liza,

I happen to disagree with what your saying and I truely think you need to get your facts straight. The bottom line is this if people would pays their bills they would not have to work about their vehicles being taken. Now there are other financial institutions out there people can use other than Cash Point. But it seems it was your choice to use Cash Point so there is no need to be bitter because you failed to pay your bills on time. Now I’m sure you would not be complaining if you missed your mortgage payment and your mortgage company foreclosed on your house. Everybody in this economy is trying to make just like Eugene and Dave Norton. I am sure they have families to support just as you do. So I say to all the people reading your blog pay your bills on time.

  • I am responding to the posting about cashpoint/norton’s towing. I have used Cashpoint in the past and had no problems. It states in the contract that you sign and is clear on their website that your car will be reposessed if you are seriously delinquit or faulty on your loan payment. I payed my payment on time and had no issues in receiving my title back. If a company gives you a loan with your car as collateral they will definitely take the title until you are paid in full just like the finance company does when you purchase a car brand new off the lot. The title does not go to you until the loan is payed off, the title is proof of ownership, which you do not “own” until all monies in the agreement is paid in full.
As for the reposession end of it, it is obvious that a reposessor is not going to greet you before they take your vehicle, they work at night to avoid violent confrontations from irrate customers. They receive an order from the company to reposess and they do their job, which is all business not personal. It is not a fun job but somebody has to do it or everybody would default on car and title loans and all banks and businesses will be bankrupt. I understand your frustration and realize it must create a real hardship but to call somebody a drug addict or a flunkie is not very nice. You contradict yourself by saying that you know this personally but yet “you will never see him.” Unless he is an acquatence of yours or you have some proof of this then it could be considered slander and be trouble legally. I do understand the economy is horrible and money is tight for everybody because I am experiencing troubles myself but my advice to you would be to make sure you read the documents you sign and have knowledge of the reprocussions. In the long run it will save you aggravation and humility. I wish you luck in your endevors and think you should pray on this situation because it has hurt you so much. Good Luck

i dont believe what i’m hearing because norton’s tow sqaud is one of the legit tow companies in philly. they dont wreckchase or still cars off streets and they have beautiful trucks and they are the exclusive contractors for the city of phila street dept they help relocate (not impound) peoples cars for paving because people are too stupid to see the signs posted that say don’t park there. from what i see to they tow for temple police and they donate to many charietys and hold an event for kids each year. i wasn’t even aware they do repossessions i know all there employees work for another company that does repo’s and i also know norton’s transports for this company but i dont think they do the actual repo. i very shocked that you would blast norton’s tow sqaud name like that because your broke and got your car repoed and i wasnt nortons that repoed it. and btw i know dave he’s not on drugs so thats slander sweetie if nortons and dave wanted to they can sue you for slander.. sooi suggest you watch what you say.

  • They may be helping folks out,but charging $20.00 interest per day is a bit excessive. You better have a good paying job to be able to pay off your loan.

  • i can tell you that they are the biggest cons out there and work together to scam you out of money.eugene and dave are liars, thiefs, & are just in it for the money.

  • I cant speak on Cashpoint but Norton towing is one of the most reputable towing companies in Philly. They aren’t the scam artist that you are making them out to be. They just did a Towing for Toys run over the weekend that collected thousands of toys for children who’s families couldn’t afford to give their kid’s presents for Christmas and I can tell you Dave is not on drugs. Like the earlier post said you could be sued for slander for writing something like that. I can understand that you are upset because you feel they did you wrong but you don’t need to add to your troubles by being sued.

  • Liza:

You’re one of thousands of victims of auto title lender loan sharks. My impression is that you live in Pennsylvania in the Philadelphia area, so what you should know is that Cashpoint’s auto title loans are actually illegal here in Pennsylvania. I am an attorney, and I have successfully litigated against several auto title lenders in Delaware on behalf of Pennsylvania borrowers, and I might be able to help you obtain satisfaction against Cashpoint. I have gotten my clients refunds of usurious interest paid to Delaware auto title lenders, loan balances wiped out and clear title restored to their cars. In your case, since your car was repossessed, you would be entitled to compensation for the value of your car, which is something I could help you achieve. The Pennsylvania consumer protection statutes these companies violate make them liable to pay your attorney’s fees, so I am able to take on cases such as this without any out of pocket expenditures from client. • Thanks for writing back Mr. Salvin….at least you are offering her help. I may be contacting you myself soon.

I don’t understand why these brainwashed folks here are actually worried more about “slander”….than criticizing CashPoint and their Repo methods. Case in point? D.C. attorney general sues CashPoint

…and to philapdbadge35206, my fellow 369′er…you should know better…..er….a little “note” from the tow guy on the site fella? People can say anything they want….this isn’t a news story…it is a consumer conversation…officer. Since you are obviously sleeping with the enemy…oww….did I just “slander” you???….Why don’t you walk across the street and get his butt to a PC so he can answer for himself here, fella.

…Man…this society is so “brain-trained” that we actually go after the people who help….what a joke.

*p.s….when you go to CashPoint…watch them work the magic with the spreadsheet….err….300, no…350….no….360 percent!!! Call on the phone????…nine times out of ten…they will tell you 30 percent. They don’t even ask what state you are from. Wow…look at their annual sales:
