My brother was recently arrested in the Movies at Franklin Mills. Like a lot of black men in our society he has made some bad choices. His side of the story needs to be told. The media and the Police Districts in the North East are painting a completely different story. My brother had finally got a job after many months of looking , he was working at a five star Italian restaurant in Center City. He had been drug free for over two years. His troubles began when we lost our mom. I am not making excuses for him. But he never got over it.

All of his incarcerations were for drug use, not killing , not selling. He would not hurt a fly, His nieces call him” Uncle Candy ” because he always give them candy. Kevins’ great great grandfather out of slavery built the first black church in St. Mathews South Carolina.

That church still stands today. I refuse to let the system bury him. He is 39 but now I see because of his incarcerations he looks at life through the eyes of a child. He still needs parenting . If you google his name and read all the media accounts , his response was ” these are my grenades” only the mind of a child would say that. Please help me get him counseling. He needs a good attorney and his story told. In this society it does not matter your crime but how much money you have.
